Nate Neufeld is MCC's March 2026 Student-Athlete of the Month. The McHenry High School graduate has competed on our Men's Tennis team for the past two years. He has played at #1 Singles each year, as well as at #1 Doubles. He serves as this year's team captain.
Coach Jim Stockwell lauds, "Nate has been a wonderful addition to our program, helping out during our Women's Tennis season and then helping his fellow teammates on the Men's side. He is extremely coachable, listens to instructions, and executes them. He always plays with a smile on his face, and his energy is contagious. He also has maintained a GPA over 3.50 in his time here, showing a strong commitment to his education on and off the court."
In 2024-25, Nate earned ISCC All-Academic honors and is on track to graduate as an NJCAA Academic All-American this spring. He plans to transfer to SMU to continue his studies, with hopes of teaching tennis and playing club as well.
"Nathan is a quality, area student-athlete who has represented our college with great class and maturity. He has a bright future ahead of him," adds Director of Athletics Karen Wiley.
