Molly Stockwell Named April 2026 Student-Athlete of the Month

Women's tennis player, Molly Stockwell, awarded Student-Athlete of the Month

Congratulations to Molly Stockwell, MCC's April Student-Athlete of the Month. The Johnsburg High School graduate has competed on our Women's Tennis team over the past two years, including a one-year redshirt due to injuries.

Molly improved vastly over the Fall of 2025. She had two incredible matches that went into tiebreakers against high-ranked opponents, showcasing her development. She was deeply supportive of her fellow teammates and very coachable. Not only did she play on the team, but she also worked in the theater department for two shows, acting in one, stage managing the other, held a part-time job, and maintained a GPA over 3.50 for her time at MCC.

Coach Jim Stockwell lauds, "Molly is an incredibly hard worker who will do drills until she understands the process and can get the concept down. She listens attentively, executes the game plan, and is the type of player every coach wants on their team. She always cheers on her teammates. Molly plays tennis for the love of the game."

Molly has earned ISCC All-Academic honors in 2024-25 and is on track to graduate to earn the honor again this year.  Her plans include studying Art Therapy at Arizona State University or a local university so she may stay closer to home.

"It has been fun to watch Molly grow in confidence and poise as a student-athlete and person.  She has learned to juggle several activities and be highly successful with all of them.  We wish her all the best in her coming ventures," adds Director of Athletics Karen Wiley.
